Pitt County EMS Credentialed as a Continuing Education Institution
Certification approved by North Carolina Office of EMS
Pitt County Emergency Management announces its Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division has been formally designated as a Continuing Education Institution (CEI). This CEI designation, from the North Carolina Office of EMS (NCOEMS), ensures that Pitt County EMS can provide ongoing, high-quality training designed to maintain and improve the skills of local emergency responders.
By investing in continuing education, Pitt County reaffirms its commitment to providing the best pre-hospital care for its residents.
"This milestone is a testament to the dedication and direct contributions of our frontline EMS providers, who played a pivotal role in making this possible. Our organization remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence, which is evident in our rigorous training practices designed to uphold the highest standards of care. Every day, our team prepares and responds as if they are caring for their own loved ones, ensuring that our community receives the compassionate, top-tier emergency services they deserve," said Jonathan Croom, EMS Training and Compliance.
Scheduled training sessions will be provided at no cost to Pitt County system providers. These sessions are designed to strengthen and unify the County's emergency response system, while ensuring the workforce remains prepared to meet the evolving needs of the community.
"Pitt County has committed to recruiting and retaining the best Paramedics we can attract. This achievement demonstrates that commitment to being able to educate, train, and maintain credentials for those employees so that they do not have to worry about their certification processes. I am incredibly proud of the things that people with a positive, can-do spirit can accomplish. The EMS employees of Pitt County will continue to work towards setting the standard for prehospital care in our area. Having our CEI as an agency will help us validate the needs of our employees and meet the needs of an evolving workforce," added Jim McArthur, Emergency Management Deputy Director/EMS Coordinator.
