PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Economic Development Agreement for Project Jackpot
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that a Public Hearing will be held before the Pitt County Board of Commissioners at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 17, 2025, in the Eugene James Commissioners Auditorium, Pitt County Administration Building, 1717 West Fifth Street, Greenville, NC, pursuant to the provisions of NCGS 158-7.1, to consider economic development incentive appropriations for the purpose of aiding and encouraging industrial development.
This is in reference to an update to the existing economic development agreement for Project Jackpot, based on revised investment projections. The amendment would change the anticipated investment from $8.5 million to $40 million in real and personal property.
At this new investment level, the incentive cap would increase to $100,000 per year for a six-year period, with a maximum incentive of $600,000 over the full grant term.
In addition, the County will consider applying for an NC Commerce Building Reuse Grant for the company’s expansion with a 5% match not to exceed $25,000.
The benefits to the public expected to be derived from the expansion project as a result of the incentives being considered include: the enhancement of the tax base and the creation of new high-skill jobs paying above the County’s average wage.
The public is invited to attend the hearing at which time there will be an opportunity to be heard in favor of, or in opposition to, the above item.
