Pitt County Human Relations Commission Meetings Cancelled
Community listening sessions to be held in place of regular meetings
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – The regular meetings of the Pitt County Human Relations Commission for Tuesday, May 20 and Tuesday, June 17, 2025 have been cancelled. The meetings have been replaced with “The Gathering Voices Project” community listening sessions.
The County’s grant initiative, “The Gathering Voices Project” is in partnership with Pitt County’s Human Relations Commission and East Carolina University Academic Library Services. It aims to highlight and celebrate the diverse communities of Pitt County, foster learning, strengthen community engagement and provide individuals with a platform to use their voices. The project will also address the need for local perspectives in K-12 Social Studies curriculums, focusing on primary source instruction and help students explore themes related to America 250.
Listening sessions will be held as follows:
