Protect Yourself From NCDMV Text Scams
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) is warning residents about a rise in fake text message scams.
These scam messages may look like they are from NCDMV and falsely claim you need to pay fees, fines, or tolls. NCDMV will never ask for payment through a text message.
How To Stay Safe
- Be cautious of unexpected texts asking for money or personal information.
- Do not click on links or respond to these messages.
- Always verify NCDMV questions through official channels.
- Report suspicious texts as spam to your mobile provider.
- Report scams to the Federal Trade Commission Now.
