The Pitt County EMS System operates a network of stations and emergency vehicles that provide ambulance care and patient transport. In recent years, rising costs have placed added financial pressure on the system as it works to reduce reliance on tax-based funding. Local leaders continue to explore long-term funding options to help ensure EMS services remain available to residents now and in the future.
The Pitt County Financial Services Department manages ambulance billing for all EMS squads. This includes billing patients directly and processing claims through Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance providers.
