Sites are evaluated for their suitability to dispose of sewage in a safe and sanitary manner.

Private Drinking Water Supplies
Effective July 1, 2007, all private drinking water wells in Pitt County were required to be permitted prior to installation.

Public Swimming Pools & Spas
All public swimming pools, wading pools, and spas must comply with the North Carolina Administrative Code .2500 Rules Governing Public Swimming Pools.

Septic Permit Search
Environmental Health is currently undertaking a project to scan and make available public septic permit documents. This link will direct you to our online permit search tool. Please note, that we are starting with old permit documents (1970s) so if you are unable to find the permit you need please email us at pitt.envhealth@pittcountync.gov.
