Food, Lodging & Institutional Sanitation
The Department of Environmental Health inspects all restaurants and supplies to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.

Mosquito Management & Control
Pitt County uses an Integrated Pest Management approach to mosquito control.
On-Site Sewage Disposal
Sites are evaluated for their suitability to dispose of sewage in a safe and sanitary manner.
Private Drinking Water Supplies
Effective July 1, 2007, all private drinking water wells in Pitt County were required to be permitted prior to installation.
Public Swimming Pools & Spas
All public swimming pools, wading pools, and spas must comply with the North Carolina Administrative Code .2500 Rules Governing Public Swimming Pools.

Environmental Health is currently undertaking a project to scan and make available public septic permit documents. This link will direct you to our online permit search tool.
