Medicaid
NC Medicaid for low-income individuals and families helps cover medical services for parents, children, seniors, and people with disabilities. There are different types of Medicaid coverage available, based on a person’s age, income, and health needs. For those who qualify, NC Medicaid covers most health services including doctor visits, check-ups, emergency care, dental care, vision and hearing services, prescription drugs, maternity and postpartum care, hospital services, behavioral health, preventive and wellness services, medical-related devices and more. Copays are little or no-cost. and there are no monthly premiums. The highest copay is $4 and that is only needed for some services.
