Leading Local Conservation Efforts

The Board of Supervisors guides the work of the District, helping protect our land and water resources through local conservation leadership.

Meetings are held monthly to set priorities, review progress, and plan new projects that address the community’s conservation needs. By partnering with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as businesses and non-profit groups, the board supports programs that offer technical help, cost-share funding, and practical solutions for landowners.

Supervisors also review and approve district contracts for the Agricultural Cost Share Program (ACSP), Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program (AgWRAP), and Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP). These state programs, managed by the North Carolina Division of Soil and Water Conservation, ensure that conservation funding is used responsibly and that projects deliver lasting results.
